Step-by-step guide

How to clean machine washable and non-machine washable Skechers


  • Remove the laces and wash them separately with similar colours.
  • Place shoes in a pillowcase or laundry bag.
  • Wash on a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent.
  • Do not use bleach or hot water.
  • Allow to air dry fully. Avoid using the tumble dryer.

For Fabric/Mesh/Nylon:

  • Mix warm water with a few drops of gentle detergent.
  • Dip a clean cloth in the solution and wipe down the shoes, focusing on stains.
  • Use a clean, damp cloth to remove soap residue.
  • Air dry completely, away from direct heat.

Leather:

  • Use a leather cleaning lotion/spray.
  • Apply a leather protector before wearing in wet conditions.
  • Do not machine wash or use harsh chemicals.

Suede/Nubuck:

  • Use a suede/nubuck cleaning product and a suede brush.
  • Apply a protector like before wearing in wet conditions.
  • Do not machine wash or use harsh chemicals.

Light-Up Shoes:

  • Do not machine wash.
  • Use a damp cloth with gentle soap and warm water to clean.
  • Allow to air dry fully.

Skechers Memory Foam™: 

  • Use a soft cloth or sponge dipped in a cleaning solution of warm water and laundry detergent.
  • Gently scrub the shoe's surface, focusing on dirty areas.
  • Air dry at room temperature. Never put memory foam shoes in the dryer, as the heat can damage the foam.  

Skechers Hands Free Slip-ins®:

  • If not machine washable, hand wash with cold water and a gentle detergent.
  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth to remove soap residue.
  • Air-dry at room temperature and avoid direct sunlight.

Skechers Foamies®:

  • If not machine washable, hand wash with cold water and a gentle detergent.
  • For the best results, you can use shoe cleaning sponges to remove scuffs and dirt.
  • Air dry in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight and heat.
